Dear all,

The Western New York Heritage Magazine (Winter 2017 issue)  has an article with pictures about the Chez Ami Restaurant in Buffalo.  The Chez Ami was started and run by Grandma Sapienza’s brother Phil Amigone.  Other of her brother’s worked there too.  It was a famous restaurant in Buffalo for many years with its revolving bar.  Eventually, it was torn down.  The article is written by Sandy Amigone Sease, the daughter of Grandma’s brother, Frank.  (As a humorous aside, Uncle Joe and Uncle Nickie used to call him Frankenstein.)

The newly decorated Curtiss Hotel on Franklin Street in Buffalo is about to open and is naming their first floor restaurant the Chez Ami and it will have a revolving bar.

The Western New York Heritage Magazine is a very high quality magazine.  If you are interested in buying the Winter issue with the Chez Ami article, here is the link:

(The front cover has a picture of the revolving bar.)

As Sandy puts it, this is a special moment in time to remember the Chez Ami.  And, this is recognition of our family’s contribution to the culture of the City of Buffalo.  Sandy hopes you enjoy reading the magazine.  The article is very well done with lots of great pictures.

Best to all,
Paul
